Silk Scarves for International Woman's Day

“Having spent time living in Ecuador and Peru,” says Beshlie, “the empowerment of marginalized societies, and the preservation of traditional design and craftsmanship, are at the absolute core of my ethos.
“So when I was approached by the Sophia Forum, I agreed without hesitation.”We are loving the colourful and feminine designs that Beshlie McKelvie has created for The Sophia Forum.
Her Dupatta's (or scarves to you and me) are made with silk and cotton. The colours have been carefully chosen and each one is individually hand dyed and printed. The women who weave the Dupattas mostly work within a Woman's Co-Operative. This enables them to support both themselves and their families.
With her collections already selling at a number of London’s hottest boutiques - including Designers Guild, The Cross and Pippa Small - and launching in Ibiza and India this spring, Beshlie’s ‘Sophia’ collection promises to bring real hope to the Kenyan women with whom she has collaborated.
We think it's a great way to support women whilst bringing some colour to our spring/summer wardrobes.
