Sally LaPointe, In Development

http://www.style.com/blogs/stylefile/wp-content/uploads/sally-lapointe.jpgNow in her second season, Sally LaPointe showed a futuristic, second-skin collection of after-hours gear on the far western fringes of Chelsea Friday night. Despite the sci-fi bent, LaPointe’s latest had an old-school inspiration: photography development (with, like, film) and the RGB process of colors—red, green, blue—appearing one at a time. The clothes followed the same progression. Monochromatic looks in silver were replaced by head-to-toe red, then turquoise, and finally black. LaPointe has been linked to Lady Gaga (whose new single dropped yesterday, too), and while there might not be too many non-pop-phenom takers for the collection’s molded hip peplums and lame leggings, they’re just the sort of thing Gaga would slip on to pick up the paper.
