Meadham Kirchhoff’s Fall Show Will Smell Spicy

Those of you making the trip across the pond to take in the shows in London are in for a sweet-smelling treat. Word on the street is that designers Ed Meadham and Ben Kirchhoff have teamed up with Brit fragrance purveyor Penhaligon’s to “scent” their Autumn/Winter collection. The concept of adding an olfactory element to all the runway fanfare is not new; most of you will remember how we desperately stalked the limited-edition Svart Snö that Byredo’s Ben Gorham whipped up for Acne’s Fall 2010 show last year. This will be Meadham and Kirchhoff’s fifth dance with fashion and fragrance. The models, clothing, and even the venue at the design duo’s presentation on Saturday will be spritzed with a light mist of Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet, a scent that was created at the turn of the last century and is named after Britain’s Blenheim Palace. The eau features a crisp mix of citrus oils, spices, and woods, and was specifically picked out by Meadham to complement the vibe of the collection—which we can only imagine will feature some new riffs on dandy attire. To ensure the proper pacing of the aroma in the air, the designers have specified that the models be dabbed with the juice right before walking out. No word on whether front-row attendees will find a bottle of Blenheim Bouquet under their seats, but should you not be able to get it out of your head (or your clothes), click here to procure your very own flacon
