"Stuff the catwalk," you can almost imagine Romance Was Born's Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett saying to one another whilst brainstorming ideas for the Summer 09 collection showing. "Gosh-darn-it we're RWB and we're going to put on a show!"
Stuff the catwalk they did – the entire collection (all 42 looks of it) was showcased offsite, on one of the Conservatorium of Music’s auditorium stages, albeit over an hour after its scheduled start time. And put on a show the delightfully shambolic duo certainly did. A tribally themed show to be precise, featuring upwards of 35 models, a live organist, two teepees, a dramatic death and a couple of kids. The likes of which, if the post-show rumours are to be believed, Rosemount Australian Fashion Week CEO Simon Lock himself has not seen before at an Australian Fashion Week.
